The Monthly Letter from Pastor Wanda -  October 2014

Dear Friends,

We begin the month of October with World Communion Sunday, a celebration which reminds us to remember to pray for Christians living all around the world. In many parts of the world today it is not easy to be a follower of Christ.  Christians around the globe are being persecuted for their beliefs. Amid the violence and destruction in places like the Middle East and Africa there are communities of faith that are struggling to maintain a Christian presence as they continue to reach out in mission and ministry.  The price of Christian witness and peacemaking can indeed be high.

Sometimes we take our freedoms for granted.  Sometimes we need to be reminded that we live in a place where we can worship and pray freely.  I urge you to make a point to come to church on Sunday, October 5th.  We are planning a very special worship service culminating n sharing the Lord’s Supper together.

We also invite you to our Harvest Potluck celebration following worship.  Please bring a dish to share.  We will feature presentations from our young people about recent mission trips to Honduras, Camp Holmes and Africa.  Invite a friend to join you for this incredible day of worship, mission and ministry.

Blessings & Peace,

Pastor Wanda

Sanctuary Flowers

This year there will be 3 options for obtaining flowers for the sanctuary.  The first option is the traditional ordering from the florist at a cost of $35.00. The second option will be to purchase your own bouquet and you can then divide the bouquet in half for each flower container.  The last option will be for you to purchase two artificial bouquets at any craft store and if you would like the flowers can then be held at the church for future Sundays. If you have any questions please call the church office at 516-354-1848.
